PTO MEETING March 25, 2008 Media Center 1. Call to Order 6:40 pm 2. Opening Prayer: 4. Treasurer’s Report: Full report to be given at the April Meeting. Beautiful Thank you note from Mrs. Kay for the piano she LOVES!!! 5. Principal’s Report: 403 Children registered for the 2008-2009 School Year. Will not exceed 30 children/class in middle school Exemption 7th grade 31 students, with 1 returning student. Tuition raised for the 2008-2009 School Year. Scholarship Program funding increased from $3750 to $5000. This enables scholarship children to continue. 2008-2009 School Year First Day Monday August 18, 2008 Last Day Wednesday June 3, 2009 Teachers to begin Monday August 11, 2008 In-services scheduled Teacher Planning Book Companies available to speak with the teachers. Orientation for New Students/Parents TBA Schedule to follow County School Calendar. School Calendar still in the works. Newsletter with schedule to follow. Teacher Assemble March 24,2008 Great Outcome. Spring Fling April 30- May 4,2008 6. Committee Reports Field Day Chair Sheila Murray Friday March 28,2008 Olympic Field Day with various events planned. Teacher Appreciation Week Chair Judy Musteric May 6-9.2008. Meeting for volunteers scheduled Wednesday March 26,2008 2:00pm Fr. Sherman Room 7. Old Business: Parish Council Dinner went very well. Big Thank You to Kerry Huffman for organizing the Mexican Fiesta from Taco Town and the Fabulous Accessories!!! Another Thank you to the Volunteers Assisting!! Job Well Done!!! Parishioners very appreciative. Fundraising: Discussion to replace Santa Shop with Art Program. Children’s artwork to be placed on a variety of items EX: magnets, mouse -pads, canvas bags, tiles, aprons etc. Spaghetti Dinner Wine Sale Possibly other small items Mary Lambeth presented “Creativity of 5B” A SENSATIONAL DISPLAY of ARTWORK. Discussed Social Gathers at School with SMS Students Art Show. Try PTO Meetings with the General Audiences. Race for Education Sponsored race for children. Promote Physical Fitness Held during school hours Coupon Book Sales To maintain/or not maintain Items voted for Approval: Continue with Coupon Book Sales Charlotte Cannon offered to Chair Julie Adams offered to Assist. Race for Education. Social Gatherings with the Art Show. Santa Shop to be replaced with the Art Program. 8. New Business: Allocations: Note sent out to teachers requesting their wish list: Responses received: Lynne Graves request; Active Boards Price Range $1700/board Projectors Price Range $750/projector Would like these to be for the teachers in 3A/B. Money for Library Books. Ms. Evans request: Little Tykes Climbing Toy for K4A/4B Ms. Jennifer request: Game Cube Games/TV Stand for after care program. Mrs. Webb request: Listening Station for classes Price Range $200/station. Items voted for Approval: 2 Active Boards with Projector.
