1. Call to Order 6:35 pm.

5. Committee Reports:

Field Day Report by Sheila Murray:

           Event planned for March 28, 2008 Full School Day

           Titled: Olympic Field Day

           K4-3 will participate in the morning.

   4-8 will participate in the afternoon.

  Classes to pick a country and make a flag to represent their country.

   Students to participate in Opening Ceremonies

           Numerous Events Scheduled

           Closing Ceremonies

           Students will be given a medal at the end of the day.

           Note to teachers with information about times and events will be sent out.          

           Will need volunteers to help with Field Day.

           A SPECIAL THANKS to Sheila Murray for all her hard work.

Fundraising for the Next school year.

     Numerous ideas were discussed

     FundRays Coupon Books Chair Betty Dalton will be stepping down.

                Replace with Race for Education

                Sponsored Race for children receive donations from sponsors for laps they run.

                This would be done during school hours. Great way to promote fitness!!!!!

     Santa Shop

                 Replace with an Art Sale children’s art work placed on various items.

                  EX: mouse pads, magnets, mugs, aprons, bags, etc.

                 Great way to show off your children’s talents!!!

     Continue with T-Shirt Sales and may expand with SMS Hats.

     Spaghetti Dinner

                  Possibly sell wine/May try SMS Label

                 Auction off Desirable Items.

                 EX. Movie and Popcorn Day, Pajama Days, Pizza Day, HOV Lane.

                 Condo for a weekend, any other ideas ?????

                I would donate a special sewing item or two !!!!!

      50/50 Raffle

     Alicia Lund gave a Wonderful Presentation on Classic Cookie Fundraiser

                Which also offers Coffee, Brownies, and Candles.

    Other suggestions were presented:

                  Faculty Football, Movie Night, Karaoke Night

                  Children’s Art work for Auction

                  Tour Christmas Lights on the SMS Bus

      Will continue to discuss ideas for fundraisers and open up to other suggestions.

Thanks for all the wonderful ideas!!!!

Plan to finalize at the next meeting.

5. Old Business:

    Parish Council Dinner scheduled for Monday March 10,2008

    PTO will be providing the dinner.

    Will need volunteers to set up/ serve/ clean up. Approx. 10-12.

    Time: 5:15 pm- 6:45 pm   Babysitting will be provided during the event.

6. New Business:

    Teacher Appreciation May 5-9, 2008

             Chair Judy Musteric

             Events are being planned.

    Topics to be discussed:

    Placement of funds for next year.

    Note to Teachers for Requests.

    Direction of PTO.

    Officer Nominations;

    Other Topics:

              Sunshine Committee

              Cards for special events to parents

              Birthday, birth of child, possible illness.

    SMS Directory

              Organize information for better use

    SMS Head Room Mother

             Assist and give direction to new room mothers.

             Request a teachers list from each teacher for the year for parties, events, etc

             Provides planning for the year.
